12.29.07 | Analysis of Casino Royale Pop Score
One of the essential topics of the finishing year 2007, has been my analysis of the David Arnold's and Chris Cornell's music for the James Bond movie Casino Royale. My research is most likely the widest and most thoroughful study of any James Bond score ever. Laborous it was, but I feel satisfied as the study turned out to be fruitful, and I learned a lot as composer.

11.26.07 | Musical explorations...
I had a privilege to work briefly with "a genuine Brazilian master" Tindaro Silvano. His choreography will be performed by no less than two choruses, two solo dancers, dance group, light show and my interactive electronic ambience at Hyvinkää Church just before Christmas.

It's funny how suddenly and unexpectedly these kinds of encounters always come up.

This time to the Royal Conservatory in the Hague in December. A full week of good music and hopefully passioned interaction with young musicians.

10.20.07 | Fundraising Concert for Tibetan University
Artist Outi Heiskanen has started raising funds for Tibetan University in Bangalore, India, founded by Dalai Lama. I will be doing my share by performing at an event (actually an auction including Art, Performances, Music etc.), which takes place at the Aleksanterin Teatteri at 4 pm on Saturday. No cover!

05.21.07 | Furious Film Scoring...
We participated a tonque-in-cheek film competition in Auckland, New Zealand this weekend. I was to compose some music for this short-film made in 48 hours. It turned out I was composing without seeing a single-shot. Serious fun...

04.03.07 | Helsinki Pilot Professional Development Seminar
European conservatories and music universities are joining their forces by developing new ways to develop instrument pedagogy and professional skills of artists. The pilot seminar will accidentally take place in Finland, and I will give a presentation of Innovative Knowledge-Communities in Music at Kallio-Kuninkala on 15-18. April 2007. Hopefully, we are able to come up with new and even better ideas how to educate more innovative professional musicians.

League of Finnish-American Societies published the latest issue of their magazine the other day. It contains an article about me and presents me on the cover. Cool!

01.24.07 | ASLA-Fulbright Alumni Association
Along all my musical activities, I have joined the board of ASLA-Fulbright Alumni Association. It is an exciting new perspective as I have been away from Finland for a while. I hope we are able to deepen mutual understanding and cultural exchange between USA and Finland even further.

On the musical front, if highlighting something it should be mentioned that I had a privilege to participate a new type of performance in Hyvinkää. I was hired to compose sound ambience for a church. This performance also included experimental choir music, visual arts and inspirational texts, and it was definately fresh and new experience for me.

10.29.06 | Lecture at the IV National Keyboard Harmony Seminar in Finland
My lecture will be dealing with teaching and practising rhythms, and it is to take place in Jyväskylä in Finland on October 29, 2006 at 3.00 pm. The precise location will be the building of department of Music Science at the University of Jyväskylä.
